Little in demand, but still enjoying well-deserved interest, the electronic pipe mod format still refuses to leave the stage. And once again, EHPRO is trying to revive interest in it with its updated Mod 101 Pro device.
Released almost two years ago, Mod 101 turned out to be an interesting and good device, combining both modern functionality and a certain charm of the old school of modders: a straight strict pipe, a board with up-to-date temperature control on board, one-button control – all in the spirit of hits of previous years from ProVape and Dicodes. The mod even served to create a whale, but never “took off”, clearly losing the battle for vapers’ wallets to countless “boxes”. EHPRO decided to repeat their selfless feat and released an updated version, slightly redesigned, with support for new battery formats and increased power.

The new mod also comes in two versions: either separately or in the Mod 101 Pro Kit with a Lock RDA dripper, sharpened for NotchCoil. vape shops online australia The device arrived to me separately in a small rectangular box with the inscription Seek the delight of vape on the lid, the manufacturer’s logo, the name of the device and a window through which you can see the device itself and its color scheme. On the back side you can find a list of warnings (nicotine causes blah-blah-blah …), an indication of the color of the case (I had SS in my hands), a standard EHPRO sticker with an originality check (on any page of the site at the very bottom on the right) and a number of icons with prohibitions, advice and certificates.

User manual
A pleasant surprise was the ring-adapter for 22 mm atomizers found in the kit (the manufacturer understands who the potential buyer is), an insulator for the connector and a multilingual manual, where there was even a sensible Russian translation. Not without blunders, but still you can figure it out, and specifically for this manufacturer this is already a big step towards the domestic buyer.
Appearance and design
What can be said about the new pipe mod? Only that externally it is almost the same as the previous one. The most noticeable innovation is that the diameter has changed from 22 to 25 mm, but in general, it is the same piece of smooth and weighty metal pipe. The body now has laser engravings, they are shallow but distinct: Mod 101 Pro on the screen side and EHPRO on the opposite side, where the button is. The device got rid of the atavism of supporting 18350 and 18500 batteries, due to which the body has now become solid along the entire length, and does not consist of several pieces. The screen has become a little larger, it has increased from 0.49″ to 0.69″, but against the background of modern box mods with color displays it still looks old-school.
If the Mod 101 was released only in an unpainted metal version, then its updated version “Pro” can already boast as many as four colors: bare stainless steel, black, blue and rainbow. I can’t say anything about the coating of the colored cases, I got my hands on a steel one again.

Impressions and conclusions
The device turned out to be both old-fashioned and modern. Current battery formats and output power “pumped up” to 75 W are no longer the modest 50 that its predecessor had, Mod 101 Pro can be used with fairly low-resistance windings, albeit not in the “steam locomotive” mode. The board cools down quickly, you can make several confident puffs before overheating. Although, of course, the main audience this pipe mod is aimed at are true oldfags, lovers of cigarette tanks and drippers, which often have the same straight and strict shapes without the patterns, bends, engravings and pot-bellied glass that have become popular recently. For such a bundle, the device is definitely a “must have”, since support for 21700 and 20700 batteries allows you to “pump up” the autonomy quite well, which is always important. In terms of functionality, TCR support has been added, which will allow fans of temperature control to vape on non-standard metal alloys.
I cannot look at such a device indifferently, so my attitude towards it is biased. Purely positive, despite its obvious inconvenience compared to boxes. But still, from personal complaints, I would like to mention a strange conflict with Kaifun, with which the mod initially refused to work for some reason, stubbornly ignoring it. I released and tightened the screw in the atomizer itself a couple of times and the problem simply disappeared. Mysticism. I will leave the weight and length of the device without discussion, since the case is made of fairly thick steel, and a classic layout is used: the screen, board and connector are located on top, occupying their rightful place in the pipe, which could not but affect the overall length. Otherwise, there are no special comments, the device works reliably, does not glitch, works clearly and quickly when pressed, and with a 21700 battery, it is very pleased with the operating time. No USB port? Well, to hell with it, use a charger, it will be better for everyone.
