Today we will review the ULTEX T80 kit by the famous Chinese company Joyetech, consisting of two equally unusual devices, each of which is curious and truly unique for the market.

ULTEX T80 with CUBIS Max Kit Packaging

The entire kit comes to the buyer in a square box with a blue cardboard sleeve and an image of the setup of the exact color that is inside. In addition to the name and the ULTEX T80 itself, on the cover you can see a small insert with an image of the proprietary technology used in Cubis Max and the inscription Innovative NCFilm Heater. vape shop online australia As usual, the entire surface of the packaging is covered with the manufacturer’s logos and links to the company’s social networks, on the back you can read about the brief specifications and equipment, as well as check the purchase for originality by the code under the protective layer on the Joyetech website. My device came straight from the manufacturer and the box is decorated with the obligatory Sample | Not for sale.

The ULTEX T80 with CUBIS Max kit comes with

ULTEX T80 mod (without battery)

CUBIS Max atomizer

Micro USB cable

User manuals

Warranty card

Warning cards

Spare parts (orings, screws and spare NCFilm Heater)

In addition to the kit itself and the usual pile of waste paper in the form of instructions, warnings and warranty cards, the box contained a meter-long USB cable, pre-cut pieces of cotton, spare glass, orings and a branded heating element for the tank.

Appearance of the ULTEX T80 with CUBIS Max kit

The ULTEX T80 kit is sold as a complete set or separately: you can purchase both the mod and the tank separately. Visually, the entire kit is a classic design of a pipe mod and a tank, which is produced in huge quantities by Joyetech itself with its “daughters”, as well as many other Chinese manufacturers. But there are important features that allow us to highlight these devices. The tank can be called semi-serviceable (not the entire evaporator or the entire winding will require frequent replacement, but only the cotton), and the mod is a full-fledged adjustable device with a replaceable battery with a screen and a very interesting design. The bodies of the devices are covered with relief protrusions and various elements, and the setup can easily pass for props for the next film in the Star Wars universe. The coating of my copy has a pearlescent shine and a slightly rough surface, the tank and mod are the same tone, but the battery compartment cover is slightly different.

Joyetech ULTEX T80 with Cubis Max Kit Colors

The manufacturer produces five design options for their kit: matte black, blue, gold, silver and rainbow. I got Sky Blue, which, to be honest, looks pretty nice.

Impressions and conclusions

Cubis Max and ULTEX T80The conclusion should start with the tank. It turned out to be very ambiguous on several points at once. The manufacturer did itself a disservice by not calculating the thickness of the cotton that it puts in the kit. It is clearly not enough and the tank simply overflows. And after some time, the cotton wool also shrinks, moves away from the heating element and the atomizer pleases with pre-burns with a full tank. Hence the spitting of liquid and flooding. The issue is easily resolved by replacing it with another cotton, but the “out of the box” solution should be ready for immediate use. I will leave the final taste transfer outside the conclusion, I will only say that I barely recognized the taste of the familiar liquid. In general, Cubis Max, like all similar devices, is “not about taste”. But it gives a wonderful “smoking experience”, with Dairy King Lemon Milk, in which it seems to me there is no nicotine at all, I almost overdosed. When the feed holes are reduced by the ring, a sound appears during tightening that resembles not even a whistle, but the roar of a portable Jericho pipe, which is unlikely to please anyone. Plus, in my copy, there is always liquid under the ring, I don’t know, from a leaking lid or condensation (where would it come from with the upper blowing?). I really hope that the company will still eliminate all these shortcomings in the serial device.

ULTEX T80 in bypass mode but the battery pack seemed like a very interesting device and I liked it much more. Firstly, its compactness is easily comparable to mechanical mods. Yes, the diameter of 27 mm cannot be called small, but still the shape of the pipe is observed and the device is very pleasant and convenient to use. Secondly, there is simple and clear control with all the rich functionality, well known to all Joyetech users, although it is placed on a tiny display. The use of the bypass mode, in which you can really squeeze the maximum out of the battery, also seemed curious: when winding 0.08 Ohm, some cosmic figures of 187 W appeared on the screen (and on a fresh battery, even more than 200). This is despite the fact that in the variwatt mode, the board with this resistance does not allow it to rise above 72 W due to the limitation of the current output. The only (and inevitable) disappointment is the board overheating after several puffs and the Device too hot error, which you can’t get away from in mods with electronics. There are no complaints about the operating time, the boards from the manufacturer have long been on the market and have proven themselves well, the ULTEX T80 itself did not present any unpleasant surprises during a week of use.
