This review will focus on the expensive but functional Paranormal box mod from Lost Vape with the well-known DNA250C board on board.
At one time, the Chinese company Lost Vape made a loud statement about itself in the vaping market by starting to produce box mods with an American DNA board installed inside. The most popular devices from the above-mentioned Chinese manufacturer were Triade DNA250 and Therion 133, which, although they had an impressive price tag, had a number of design flaws. Nevertheless, these mods are still in great demand, while Evolv has long updated its chips to the C version, giving them a color screen along with a couple of interesting features. One of these features of the new American board was the Replay function, which is a more sophisticated variation of temperature control. And, as you might have guessed, today’s patient just has this functionality. Let’s get acquainted with Paranormal DNA250C.
Packaging and equipment
The external decoration of the Paranormal DNA250C packaging immediately hints that there is something expensive, premium segment, inside. australian vape The front side of the box is decorated with an excellent quality image of the box mod in the main color options of the case. There is a logo and the name of the device, also made well. The back side of this rich box carries more specific information, including a list of all the advantages of the mod, various links to the manufacturer, as well as other certificates and codes that are of little interest to the average user. And all this, by the way, is only the top cardboard casing.
Under this very casing is hidden a kind of chest covered with imitation leather. Another logo and the name of the device immediately catches the eye from above, and on one of the sides you can find some stickers informing the buyer about which version of the case is used in the box mod lying inside, where it is made and what it is called, in case you suddenly forgot. Holding such an interesting box in your hands, you again catch yourself thinking that you have a really valuable thing. Well, let’s open the chest and see if this is true. At the same time, we will get acquainted with the Paranormal DNA250C package.
At first, oddly enough, we are not greeted by the box mod itself, but by a card with a brief description of the Replay function, from which we can already learn that for work we will need any winding containing the wire materials indicated on this cardboard. A little later, of course, we will try all this out. Let’s move on and get directly to the hero of today’s review.

Lost Vape Paranormal DNA250C Panels
For its brainchild, Lost Vape has traditionally made many different options for finishing the case. Here there can be inserts made of wood, leather (probably) or carbon. Specifically, in our case, we are dealing with a version without additional side panels, although some copies still include a couple of such accessories and a suction cup for replacing them.
The design of the Paranormal DNA250C is really good, nothing to add. In fact, it is precisely with its appearance, if you do not count the DNA board, that Lost Vape products have become loved by many vapers around the world. “Paranormal” is full of interesting lines and curves, has side panels made of a pleasant to the touch material with a texture of snake skin (or something similar) and an insert for the curve of the palm of an unknown material, actively imitating carbon. The front panel contains board controls, among which there is a metal Fire button with a light indicator just below and the same metal control buttons, under which there is a micro-USB port. One cannot help but notice the screen, which is large for a DNA chip, but not impressive against the background of modern mods from other companies.
Impressions and conclusions
I used the box mod on a regular basis for about several weeks and during this time I had practically no complaints about its operation. This statement applies mostly to the DNA board rather than to the product of the Lost Vape company. Many vapers love and appreciate the chip from Evolv, and deservedly so. The board is stable, works well, is flexible in settings and is generally a good guy. However, some users consider DNA overpriced, and I partly agree with this, since recently the Chinese industry has grown noticeably and began to produce decent boards that are in no way inferior to their Western competitor. If we praise the Paranormal DNA250C box mod directly, then here I would like to immediately note the chic presentation of its product by Lost Vape. Packaging, printing, box materials and other minor elements that other manufacturers do not pay due attention to are implemented here so that you understand what you paid so much money for. The box mod itself is not inferior in design to the above-mentioned box, the device is actually very nice and pleasant to hold, although it digs into the hand a little with its sharp edges. My copy does not have replaceable side panels, but such an opportunity to customize the appearance certainly also deserves praise.
The Paranormal DNA250C is not without its drawbacks, it is not for nothing that we are dealing with a Chinese manufacturer. The appearance and the board, as noted above, are at a height, but the assembly and quality control leave much to be desired. No, the box mod feels monolithic, nothing except the buttons on the front panel makes a sound, and even those shake if you shake them, just like that. The point here is in the details that give away China in such an elegant device. The plastic insert under the connector sits with noticeable cracks, into which dirt and dust get clogged, and the general fit of the case parts to each other is also abundantly “seasoned” with incomprehensible cracks and gaps. Inside, the manufacturers completely spat on the processing, which is noticeable on the battery compartment cover from the contact group side. The cover itself closes with such force that you start to worry about the batteries. In addition, the device weighs much heavier than it seems. I do not argue, there is such a thing as “pleasant heaviness”. In this case, this is not the story. And also annoying is the carbon-like insert, on which the texture of this material is simply printed. What kind of premium can we talk about here if Lost Vape only imitates expensive materials, but does not use them. Leather side panels? I strongly doubt it.
