Today we will talk about a bottom feeder that is not only capable of working with cigarette drippers, but also explaining why manufacturers put squonk pins in powerful atomizers.

The products of the Ginger Vaper company are not widely distributed on the domestic market, although, for sure, some are familiar with them. The original bottom feeder, the full name of which sounds like Boxer Mod Classic DNA250C BF Squonk Dual 20700 with Evolv DNA250C Temperature Control (and there is also a three-battery Boxer Mod Classic DNA250C Triple 2X700 with Evolv DNA250C Temperature Control in a similar case), was released back in February of this year, but due to the price (it starts at $ 249.99) it can become a purchase only for the most inveterate fans of the manufacturer or just rich vapers. As is clear from the name, the device is equipped with the current Evolv DNA 250C chip, the price of which is impressive, but, naturally, far from the largest part of the cost of the device. The box mod from the Americans turned out to be very successful and did not go unnoticed by the well-known manufacturer of clones, the Chinese company Shenzhen Shenxingkang Technology Co., Ltd., better known as SXK. Naturally, the case and external similarity were inherited from the original, but the board was replaced with some of its own with a power of 200 W (the solution from Evolv gives out the same amount from two cans). But not everything is as sad as it may seem at first, the device has the right not only to exist, but also our hard-earned money.

SXK Boxer 200W packaging

The device came into my hands in a plastic case with four latches and two ears. The only identifying marks are a huge sticker with the inscription BOXER, on top of it another one with a barcode, it looks like it’s from the Efun.top store. vape store australia The first thing you see when you open the plastic box is the pungent smell of burnt plastic. To be honest, the mod itself, carefully wrapped in a disposable plastic bag, initially gave off exactly the same smell, and I began to seriously worry “maybe it’s all over.” But it worked out, the smell was coming from the plastic case.

User Manual

Inside you can only find the manual in Chinese and English, the SXK assemblers even forgot to include the charging cable. The original can boast a much wider range of useful features and even “goodies”, such as a vape band and a cloth, which would be a shame not to find in the box with the device for a quarter of a “thousand”. But we have a different story, an economical one.

Appearance and design of the SXK Boxer 200W

Boxer 200W SXK in handThe device from Chinese cloners is clearly not made on a 3D printer from nylon, like the original box, and the texture and small seams clearly show that we are talking about casting. And if you believe the SXK page on Alibaba, then specifically from POM plastic (descriptions in online stores vary). Over a long period of using the Hugo Vapor URUS, I have appreciated one important advantage of the plastic case – it does not peel off or scratch, unlike painted metal. Otherwise, the device externally repeats the shape and elements of its “progenitor”: a flattened shape reminiscent of the S-Body VapeDroid C3D1, a screen of the same size, similar buttons, there is even a deep relief inscription BOXER on the lid. By the way, you can find the result of a successful “transplantation” of the original DNA 250C board into a clone case on the Internet, i.e. the internal layout is exactly the same. The box mod fits perfectly in the hand thanks to its successful shape, the rough surface does not slip in the palm, the thumb lies exactly on the Fire button, and the screen always remains in front of your eyes, no matter whether you are left-handed or right-handed.

SXK produces only three versions of the box mod (the original has a dozen colors): black, dark blue and light blue. All of them are made of colored plastic, this is not painting.

Impressions and conclusions

Ribbon in Boxer 200W Squonk Box Mod SXKIt feels like most manufacturers are making fun of us when they offer single-battery bottom feeders, and to them dual-spiral drippers with free draw, sharpened for “a lot of steam”. The box mod under review is exactly the option that can normally swing a good winding and at the same time not require recharging every half hour. Naturally, this is true for any bottom feeder with more than one battery. True, you will have to put up with rather large dimensions, but here everything is quite decent, thanks to the competent layout (thanks, Ginger Vaper!) the device has a reasonable size, fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and can even be compared with some single-battery box mods. Even without a squonk. What was especially pleasing was the surprisingly neat consumption of battery charge by the board. It is clear that we are talking about working on two 20700, but still with a very low resistance (0.08 Ohm), with which the device copes perfectly and lives for a long time. During the use, no glitches or bugs were noticed (what is there to glitch …), I carried the mod for about a week, used it with both the Reload X RDA and the Loop V1.5 RDA, the device copes perfectly with such drippers and sub-ohm windings. Another thing is that I would like a larger capacity, so that I do not have to refill it very often, but … What is, is.

Reload X RDA (24 mm) on Boxer 200W Squonk Box Mod SXK Since I have not seen the original box mod, I can judge the copy that came to me only as an independent device. In the real Boxer 200W, many things can be radically different, from the board to the tolerances and texture of the plastic. Naturally, this device has its shortcomings, both objective and at the level of personal nitpicking. But in any case, we have only a “replica” in front of us, and of very decent (still far from ideal) quality. The most annoying moment, perhaps, is associated with the lid, which the manufacturer SXK could have adjusted better. And leaving support for 21700, it is generally unclear why the device was cut down like that. The connection of the bottle with the connector proved to be good, nothing leaks past, liquid does not pour onto the board and batteries, the cans do not dangle, the buttons do not rattle, the paint from the case (there is none here) does not peel off. In general, we have a very good device for constant use.
