It is interesting that in most cases such devices are as simple and not very functional as possible, designed for vaping liquids based on salt nicotine. But as it turned out, not all vapers like such simple devices, which lack any possibility of adjustment. Especially for such vapers manufacturers produce “advanced” POD-systems. Uwell company has repeatedly released POD-systems and its most famous series is Crown, which it was decided to continue, so a rather interesting and non-standard sample – Uwell Crown D POD kit saw the light. We should say at once that it is hard to attribute this device to POD-systems, but it perfectly fits the definition of sub-mods.

Uwell Crown D POD kit is a compact submod equipped with a medium capacity battery that operates in five modes and designed for use of interchangeable vaporizers of PA series. The device is made in the format of somewhat enlarged stick with rounded edges and flattened ergonomic mouthpiece. The important feature of this device is its functionality, as in vaper’s disposal will be five modes of fine tuning, among which everyone can pick up the best option for him. The sub-mod is designed for installation of interchangeable vaporizers of PA series, which are designed for both free and tight draw. Uwell Crown D POD kit is available in six colors – blue, red, gray, green, black, and purple.

Crown D Device Battery Pack
We can’t say that Uwell is a leader in the vaping market; rather it is a stable middle class company. From time to time it releases original devices that are in demand among vapers, but they do not become super sales hits, although vapers who prefer the products of this company very rarely complain about Uwell devices. After the total transition of manufacturers to POD systems, Uwell also began to mass produce devices of this format, and the most famous series was Crown (Uwell Crown line has long been known, and not only by sub-systems). Having decided to stand out among the competitors and to win the trust of customers, the company decided to release something more interesting than a simple “thermometer”, that is why the Uwell Crown D POD kit saw the light.
Designers from Uwell Company didn’t invent something special in the design of the new device so they decided to make it in one of the most popular formats for POD systems – a stick, but with a slightly increased size. The device has no sharp edges and is equipped with a flattened mouthpiece, so it has good ergonomics. The sub-mod is relatively small – 106*28*18,5 mm. The body is made of aluminum alloy, so the device weighs only 59 grams.
The Uwell Crown D POD kit is powered by a built-in 1100 mAh battery – not much if you consider the possibility to use 0,3 ohm vaporizers. The battery is charged using the USB Type-C connector located on the bottom end of the device with 2A current.
The main feature of Uwell Crown D POD kit is functionality, because the vaper will have not just a standard vari-watt, but the whole five modes of operation – Smart-Power/VV/Curve/Bypass/Custom. Thanks to this functionality, the vaper will be able to choose the best mode for himself and set all the necessary parameters without much difficulty.
The maximum power of the device is 35 watts, and the power control and navigation through the change is not done with the standard “+/-” buttons, but with the rotary dial at the base of the device. Of course, such a solution is not a novelty, but in the manufacture of devices of such format it is used for the first time. The device is activated by both puffing and pressing the “Fire” button.

Crown D Pod Cartridge
This sub-mode uses a removable cartridge designed for interchangeable vaporizers. The cartridge is held in the battery pack by magnets and has a flattened ergonomic drip tip. The Crown D Pod cartridge is designed to use PA (UN) series vaporizers and comes with two 0.3 and 0.8 ohm mesh vaporizers for free and tight draws.
A small slider on the body allows the vaper to set the desired level of inhalation. To refill the cartridge you just need to remove the mouthpiece and pour 3 ml of liquid into the hole with a check valve.

It is safe to say that Uwell Crown D POD kit is designed specifically for vapers who are not particularly happy with the factory settings, and who want to get the most out of even such a compact device. Due to its functionality and practicality, the pod-mod will be great for vapers with experience, as well as for beginners who want to experiment.
